“In the last few years our calls and the number of parcels we hand out has increased three fold.
At the moment, there is extra financial pressure on people due to Covid-19 and we’ve been helping those who may have lost their jobs or are running out of food with children at home.
I think it’s been a rude awakening for some people, perhaps those who are self-employed or were employed, to realise just how little benefits you receive. People seem to think claiming and living off of universal credit is easy, until they actually try living on just £90 a week.”
