Foodbanks and community larders provide emergency food parcels free of charge. You normally need a referral, for example from a social worker, City Council, Citizens Advice Bureau, GP or other community organisation.

Community groceries and pantries don’t typically require a referral. They offer food at very low cost, often with a small membership fee.

Community cafes and kitchens don’t typically require a referral. They offer hot or cold meals free of charge or at very low cost.
If you know of any updates to food poverty organisation opening hours, location or operations then please let us know. It will help us to keep vital information up to date, Thanks!

Ways to support your local foodbank
Donate

Most foodbanks welcome financial donations, as it gives them the flexibility to buy provisions as and when they are needed, and to cover other running costs.
Please contact your local foodbank to find out how to donate.
For example, you can donate to Lincoln Community Larder via the Just Giving website.
volunteer

Most foodbanks welcome volunteers, and have a variety of roles, including:
- Fund-raisers, to collect donations in areas of high footfall, such as outside a supermarket, or organise fund-raising events.
- Drivers, to collect and delivery food as needed, possibly driving a van or freezer-vehicle.
- Storeroom assistants, to sort deliveries and prepare food parcels.
Food

You can help by donating food items with a long shelf life, such as rice, UHT milk, tinned vegetables, pasta sauce, etc.
Many foodbanks welcome fresh items, but please check first.
Food drop off points include Lincolnshire Co-op stores and your local foodbank/larder during their opening times, or by arrangement.
Businesses can donate bulk quantities via Fareshare, who will collect – contact Ian:
