An exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about fairer, greener, healthier food for all at the Greater Lincolnshire Food Partnership.

One of the UK’s leading light Partnerships (“a diamond in a paper crown” Minette Batters), it is supported by a highly engaged Advisory Board crossing many disciplines.

This is a role for someone who is very self-motivated and 100% committed to the power of food to change lives.

  • Freelance, primarily working from home (in Lincolnshire) with the ability to travel county-wide
  • You’ll need your own computer, phone and reliable internet access
  • Hours to be negotiated, minimum 12 hours/week, which can be worked flexibly
  • £20/hour (depending on experience)

Essential

  • You live in Lincolnshire, and have great local knowledge, social networks, affinity with place, and the ability to move around the county
  • Values: you are passionate about food, fairness, community and environment, and are committed to the aims of the Food Partnership, and to supporting diversity and inclusion.
  • Organisational skills: you’re great at managing your time and workload, and the operational side of a small CIC. You have experience in keeping accurate accounts, organising meetings, disseminating information, and complying with GDPR
  • Communication skills: you’re confident in building the good food movement in a variety of ways – you can deliver a succinct presentation; write an informative newsletter or blog post; create engaging social media content; you’re attentive and good at listening
  • Tech skills: you’re confident at hosting online meetings; using and sharing online documents, spreadsheets and other files; managing the website using WordPress, Google maps, and other tools.
  • People skills: you’re approachable and professional, representing the Partnership, maintaining and developing good relationships with partners and other organisations
  • Knowledge and experience: your experience could be from farming, food business, health & nutrition, community, environment or other part of the food system. You will be committed to learning more, and taking a systems approach to food.
  • Fund-raising and developing shared projects
  • Managing the operational side of the Food Partnership –
    • engaging with and developing the membership
    • liaising with Directors and Advisory Board members, organising board meetings
    • maintaining and developing the website, blog and maps, especially the community food map
    • communications and social media
    • maintaining accurate accounts, and updating the Directors regularly
    • general admin
    • maintaining connection with the Sustainable Food Places network
  • Taking a place-based approach to fairer, greener, healthier food in Lincolnshire, in accordance with our aims:
    • convening organisations and key individuals from across the food system to cooperate on shared projects, to achieve the aims of the partnership;
    • contributing to existing partnerships such as the Healthy Weight Partnership, South East Lincolnshire Climate Action Network, Lincolnshire Financial Inclusion Partnership
    • communicating in person, online, in writing and more: liaising with partners, members, and other key organisations, and raising awareness on food issues with specific groups and the Lincolnshire public, involving and empowering others, and building the good food movement
